We have an M with a 271 Detroit in it. It does not make an H out of an M. It has plenty of power. The reason for re-powering it was the fuel economy. It has the same power as a gas M but ran on 1/2 the fuel. It is a unique tractor with only 5 others in existance. Detroits are good engines. Cheap to overhaul and good on fuel and good starting in cold weather.
