I have recently installed an 8 volt battery in tractor. I am seeking information on adjusting the regulator to up the generator ouput. I have a Delco 6 volt regulator mounted with 3 terminals on the right and 1 terminal on the left (mounted that Delco reads verticaly). looking at the regulator sitting on the tractor, there is a top set of contacts and a bottom set. The top set has an adjustmet screw on the left side with a green spring attached near it. And on the bottom set there is a screw on the right that appears to adjust a set of metal contacts. which screw increases the generator output? and which way do you turn it to increase? I am going to hook a digital voltmeter to the battery once I determine which screw is the field voltage adjustment and set it so I can maintain the 8 volt battery charging. Any and all input appreciated. Thanks in advance.
