You need some type of containment vessel or they squish out, away from the tire. You can make powered crushers- two car wheels close together, drop the cans between the tires. My son made a crusher for a school project- wormgearbox with arm on output shaft connected to a piston in a pipe with a cutout portion for the cans to roll in from the upper side, smaller cutout at the bottom, far end where they fell out after being crushed against the plate closing off the end of the pipe.
