I have a JD40 and have replaced the clutch, pressure plate and release bearing.I've adjusted the free travel according to the service manuel but the clutch will not shift with the tractor running. It will shift with the tractor switched off.I can crank the tractor in gear but it will not shift once it gets moving.I have read that the clutch and pressure plate have to be a match set, is this correct? The pressure plate I installed had adjustable forks on it, and after the clutch would not work the first time I pulled it out and adjusted the forks to give them more height to release but this did not help either.Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
