I've recently gotten interested in the Ford flatheads, and have bought a '49 F6 and '52 F6 truck. One has the flat 6, and the other the flat V8. There are several places selling used and reproduction parts for these things, and one of them has for sale some of the "French" flat-heads that were mentioned in the other post. Seems to be lots of interest by hot-rodders in the flatties again. They do have a beautiful sound! I'm looking for some mild hop-up parts (headers, bigger intake and carb, possibly heads) for my v8 in the '52 truck. Love driving that thing. My intention is to put the flat-dump bed from the '48 onto the '52, and build ramps to load tractors with, them maybe drive it to some shows. Not sure how far I'm willing to go, kinda depends on how much patience I can find. Top speed as it runs now is about 60 mph. With some more horses I might be able to use a Brownie aux trans, and get another 28% top speed.
