pto generators

After this last ice storm and no power for 6.5 days in my home. I was thinking about buying a generator that is ran from the pto on my 35hp Diesel tractor. Can anyone tell me if its worth the investment or should I just buy a portable gen. I need around 10,000 to 12,000 watts. THANKS FOR ANY IDEAS OR COMMENTS!
