Toyotas have a very good reputation but I have had only a bad experience with one. I bought a new Toyota Avalon to use as the family car in 2000 and it was just short of a major disaster. I had 15 warranty claims in the first 6 months, and I learned it was a very annoying car as well. Several little characteristics of that car made me glad to trade it with only 26000 miles on it. I'm sure many others will have great things to say about their Toyotas but I have had my last one. This has little to do with your decision about a truck but my experience with the brands you are considering would make it an easy choice. I also have a 2000 Chevy pickup and have 68,000 miles on it and haven't had any repairs at all. You'll have to make your own decision but my advice is to go with one you can depend on to get the work done. I doubt that will be the Toyota.
