My dad used to say that "I'm sorry" were the two easiest words in the English language to say. And of course the problem is that the words are just "said" and not much else. When I was teaching, administrators would often have a kid who pulled some crazy stunt or behavior write an "I'm Sorry" essay for the teacher. Got to the point where I refused to even read them since most weren't really sincere at all, just doing what somebody else told you to do.
