Jimbob, I have a JD 60, a Farmall H and wouldn't mind having an Allis WD-45. They are all fairly reliable -- otherwise you wouldn't see so many of them still running today. My favorite is the 2 cyl. JD - but that's because it was the "big" tractor nearly 50 years ago compared to the H. On the other hand, the H is a lot more maneuverable than the JD. If I was starting from a clean slate with no past history with any of them, I'd wake up to the fact that you can get the Farmall or the Allis in comparable condition to a JD 60 or 70 for maybe 1,000 bucks less. That buys a lot of little repairs, plus a new set of tires - and they each have their own charms and pratfalls you'll come to appreciate or hate over time. best of luck with whatever decision you make.
