Look for cracks at the transmission clutch housing. Look for wear at the side of the gas tank where the choke cable has worn into the side of the tank(don't laugh, I've reppaired these) Keep in mind that it has been 50 years since this tractor was built. It's supposed to be used, hopefully, just not used up. It has a lever for the belt pulley AND a lever for the pto. Hopefully, the belt pulley is still with it. I think, in my collection of books, I've got an operators manual.
