Same problem on my '97. GM is aware of the problem. They know if it makes it 36,000 miles, (mine lasted 39,000) they are off the hook, until we buy our next truck, whick won't be a GM. I've only dumped about $5000 in this truck since the warranty ran out, the truck just turned 55,000 miles. I had over $2500 done under warranty. My '98 Dodge Ram also lost the intake manifold gasket. It lasted 36,323 miles, not covered under warranty.
