Cummins Engine company is a stock company but Ford has no ownership or control of the company. These rumors float around from time to time, but the truth always comes out. I recently was told by a Ford salesman that Ford owned Navistar, but that isn't true either. Navistar is also a stock company but is neither owned by or controlled in any way by Ford.
