Dave - One other comment I did not see listed was a block stem wall. I would suggest a 3 or 4 high cinder block stem wall. Then build your shop atop it. This would provide additional height, greater protection of your entry doors. Wish I had done it. I also put water hydrants at either end of the shop so I can clean equipment outside and also added an extra personal door directly to my equipment parking. When I park my rig I may not always want to walk around to the "designated" personal door nor do I want to open the large garage door. FWIW
