The answer is NO, not really. Existing fan is variable speed (engine speed) and absorbs a considerable amount of power - probably a couple of horse power or more at full speed? Maybe OK to run a fan from the mains!!!!! But need an awfully long lead to reach the other end of the field. Better and easier, if you are that worried, is to install an alarm from movement/temperature sensors so that you are warned of a failed or slipping belt so you can fix it before damage occurs.
