If you decide to haul yourself, pay attention to the CGVW of the truck you will use to pull with. CGVW will take into account the suspension of the truck and the brakes. Brakes=very important. Especially if you'll travel through mountains. Also look at the GVW of the trailer, same deal as truck CGVW. Does the trailer have brakes? I understand what you're trying to do, but it may end up costing more than hiring a truck in the event you break something or wreck. Just my 2 cents. Good luck either way.
