60's tractors used to get around 5-6000 hrs before needing overhauled. Modern engines are up around the 10000 hr mark, at least that's what we expect from the engines we buy. And most people don't realize that it's the air and oil that wear the engine out quicker than the plow. Keep out the dirt!! We've had engines poofed with less than 100 hrs because someone didn't put the air filter back in correctly ... and our machines don't work in very dusty conditions.
