The seal is easily replaced. Remove the three bolts and pull it out. You will lose the oil, so, have a LARGE pan ready. You can alleviate some of this by pointing the front nose down steeply. There is an "O" ring around the outside that will also need replaced. A few years ago, a neighbor brought his 35 over for a leak. I noticed the hold down bracket wasn't doing its job, so, I welded a rod across it. He took it home, put te bush hog back on, called me and told me I "needed to lick the calf over". I checked it, his PTO shaft to the bush hog was stuck and when he raised it, it pulled the pto shaft out the back.
