Checks are always a risk. However, I have had over 3000 transactions on eBay and I have been fortunate enough to receive only one bad check for 8 bucks. You could take PayPal (www.paypal.com) or just accept certified funds or Postal/Store money orders. If I take a large check that isn't certified, I hold up shipment until the check clears, but I've only found this necessary once. Also, do you know that you can get free boxes, tapes and labels from the USPS for priority mail. I use them all the time. They are brand new boxes, shipped flat right to your door or PO at NO COST for the boxes or the shipping. Just my type of deal.
