Hi Bob, If you cold bend the axle then it will again bend very easy. You will need to use a 3/8" chain with a hydraulic jack to add pressure then apply about 1100* heat and slowly add enough pressure to straighten the axle, then let cool slowly until cold, then remove the pressure, then reheat too 500* and quinch with oil or water. The heat/quinch adds temper to the steel to keep it straight and adds strength to resisit bending. You can buy temp sticks at welding supply co's. They melt when it hits the correct temperature.
