It will depend on how hot it actually got. I did a Cat 3306 a few months ago, rather we tried to fix it. Head was warped and cracked, block got so hot that it popped a few main cap bolts off. Crank and block was warped beyond machining. All aluminum had melted off the engine which was a good sign it got pretty darn hot. I'm happy to see others had luck doing it. If you attempt it, be darn sure to check the main saddles to see if it needs to be align bored and have a machine shop spin the crank to make sure it's not warped. I was able to save the flywheel and front gear cover! Good luck with your project.
