Cockshutt 30 is charging, but...............

I got the generator rebuilt on the Cockshutt 30. I was taking it out for a drive, when all of a sudden the amp gauge started to smoke. Before I knew it, all the wires were smoking, and the amp guage was a pile of molten junk. Back to square one. I have to rewire it totally.
