Cost almost nothing to add StaBil at one oz per 2.5 gallons. I add it to all gas for my 4 cycle engines and my 2 cycle engines. Why risk ruining an engine or having to drain a tank when StaBil will prevent such problems. For my 2 cycle engines (chainsaw, blower, and trimmer) I mix only one gallon at a time with the little on-shot bottles of oil, plus StaBil. I mark the can with date. When date gets 2 months old, pour it in my pickup and refil the 2 cycle gas. Only cost the one-shot oil, since I get to burn the gas anyway; or about 89 cents for premium Stihl one shot. How many tanks cand you drain or how many carbs can you rebuild for 89 cents. By the way, the chainsaw manual says to toss after 2 months. In over 20 years I have never had to worry about gas tanks and carbs. Spend a little and save a lot.
