I have started fabrication on a Caddigger model #821 mini backhoe machine. If you go to search and type in "Caddigger" you'll see their website. They have kit plans for building small backhoe machines that are movable by their own power or you can build a backhoe attachment for a small tractor.I am approx. 50% complete with my project and am well pleased with the detailed plans that they supply to fabricate from. You can build a digger that will excavate 9' deep, reach 11' and is powered by a 11 HP air cooled motor for around $3000......worth checking out.
