I liked the pun. You didn't mention what the cab is for. Lots of tractors and other equipment have been fitted with air conditioning. Maybe you can benefit from some engineer's experience and get the factory made kit to fit a compressor on your engine. This would be the easiest way to go, in my opinion. On the other hand, it is possible to fit a compressor or other belt driven machine on most engines. But it can be a lot of work, cutting and trying and can take a bunch of time. Probably most any AC compressor could be made to work, but some are much easier to fit than others. The old GM-Frigiaire compressor is HUGE. If you are going to build mounts on your engine, it would be nice to see how the compressor was mounted by the factory and try to copy that mounting scheme. Build it stronger than necessary and be concerned with vibration. If the system is used, it is important to get all of the old oil out before you fill it with the new oil that is compatible with 134A refrigerant--about the only stuff you can get now. Good luck and enjoy the cool air!
