I'm surprised at the misconceptions of calcium. It is added for two reasons, it makes the water heavier which is the goal(weight) and it keeps the water from freezing which would destroy the tire and rim. Calcium is extremely corrosive to metal and if spilled will kill any vegitation.For these reasons calcium is slowly being replaced as a tire weight with non corrosive liquids like used anti-freeze or a substance that resembles windshild washer fluid. As far as your roller idea, I doubt it will help much. Do it right and rent a vibratory plate compactor.Thats what they are designed to do and will give the best results.
