Maybe someone hooked the internal wirers backwards.I am guessing you have a GM alternator.They will charge with the wires either way. The problem is one post leaks back so it has to have a switch between it and the battery.With the big wire on and the others off test the small ones for current.The one thats got some juice needs to be on the switch.Its best to have a seperate post on the switch for the alt. and coil.
