Used a Case 1370 back in 79-81 to irrigate corn pulling from a large stream (probably couldn't do that today). Pump was 600 gpm at 140 psi for a hose reel traveler. It is definately not the same as regular field work. We ran at about 1900 rpm, probably at about 95 hp for 36 to 72 hours at a time. Murphy gauges are a must. A small oil or water leak is fatal. Had to design a heat exchanger. We ran 50 feet of copper tubing connected to the heater bypass line soaking in half a 50 gallon barrel that had a 1/4 line from the irrigation pump bleeding about 5 gallon per minute of cool creek water into it. Good luck.
