OT Farm truck quit running

My son bounced my farm truck a little too hard around the yard and came to me and said it quit on him. I went to check it out and the battery was bounced off the shelf and fell into the manifold...you guessed it, positive terminal right to the manifold. Have no idea how long it was like that or what damage has been done. Put a different battery in but there is no power with the key. It is an 83 Dodge full size with a 318 manual trans. Where do I begin? Thanks
