My father-in-law owns an old 60's model (not sure of the year) Dodge C-500. It is a big truck for its day with dual axles, air brakes, etc. It has a 318 V8 gas and he said it got 8 miles to the gallon...5 unloaded, 3 loaded = 8 MPG. :) I just wondered if it would be worth it to throw a late model diesel engine in it $ wise. I wondered how it would compare to the big semi's of today. I believe it would have a 4 speed tranny with a 2 speed rearend in it but not sure. Thanks for you comments.
