Again, I'm fixin' on getting into the hydraulics this winter so I can't help you with any past experience. I can say for now that the IT manual for our respective tractors stresses the importance of having a perfectly good O-ring seal on the hydraulic pump suction tube. My neighbor (an IHC freak) tells me the slightest nick in the O-ring will allow the pump to suck wind. Apparently this O-ring can be easily damaged during pump installation. I hope everyone with any experience with this problem jumps all over this post. I will be tuned in to say the least!

By the way--is your power steering pump and system functioning OK?
