With all the stories of bad luck, I found it easier to count my blessings. With a few "troubles" along the way, I've had one of the best years in a long time. And it looks to be getting better! My father had a fairly accurate way of "measuring" soybean yields. It took into account the number of pods, the size, and various other factors. Last night, we checked a 120 acre field that has always been very productive. If the old "formula" is still right, I might get 70 bu. this year. Our corn looks very promising, and the hay barn is about to bust, with one more cutting to go. And the best thing is, I finally managed to buy my OWN farm this summer. We had several "set-backs" this year, but things always worked out for the better. I didn't write this to brag. Nor is it to make everyone having a bad year feel worse. It's to let those guys know that the best year might be the next one. Keep the faith, and remember what got you into this profession in the first place. Good, bad, or in between, we all still love this way of life. God bless all, He sure did bless me. Bill
