I would agree with most of your post,it is an outrage that a lot of the citizens of the U.S. and most likely Canada too have chosen ignorance of anything that requires thought or discomfort for them. We also seem willing to elect any piece of trash who we think will give us what we want from the government checkbook. Our troops too are forced to use food stamps or banks, while the waste and extravagant life in Washington goes on. I would though have to take exception,as I think the other allies would, to the last line of your post. Canada paid a terrible price,but hardly carried the bulk of the war in Europe.
