Go to a store that sells paint stripper and get some of it. Smallest can will do fine. Get the heavy duty stuff as it may take a couple or three or more applications to get the paint off. Do not scrape it as that will screw up the numbers and letters if you get to deep. HOT soapy water works good along with a wire brush.----deadeye
