I don't know if any of you heard this one: a few years ago either rotella or delo was run in a fleet of similar trucks,one half had oil and filter changed at 25,000 mile intervals and the other half got a filter change and topped off at 5,000 miles. All engines made it to 1,000,000 miles and when tore down, they found less than .001 inch wear on the bearings and .0015 inch wear on the sleeves and pistons between the full service and the filter change and top off. Amazing huh? They were 444E Cummins.
