Can't say specifically on the drop problem. Had a fellow bring me his 580B that was moving else where when he was trying to lock up his boom. I replaced all of the oring seals in his control valve including all of the safety check valve orings in the same unit. He could lock up with out problem and the hoe could llft the whole machine up on the outriggers when he was digging stumps.
