new 'big' tractors to the farmer's field, before
they had the bugs out. Then the big ones tended to
be quick trade-ins for some other color. The best
purchase value, for a 'keeper' work tractor, may
well be Oliver/White, in 86 HP & up. These are
solid tractors, not perfect, but priced well below
real competitive value. Ford 5000D/6600D were good
runners in the 65-70HP class. I would pass on the
9600, a White 2-135 is a 135HP brute. Look at one.
