Are you sure you need two mowers? With only six acres to maintain, I would think that you should be able to do that with just a finishing mower. Once you smooth out the area to be mowed with a brush mower and some manual grubbing, you ought to be able simply to mow grass.

Although I have about 150 acres on my farm, I maintain a "lawn" of about 5 or 6 acres around the 3 houses and two barns that on the farm. I maintain all of that "lawn" area with my finishing mower and a 42" riding lawnmower. I live in Middle Tennessee, so I only have to mow grass for about 8 months out of the year. I mow weekly and it takes me about 6 hours to do the whole thing. When I can convince my wife to ride the lawn mower while I use the finishing mower with my Ford 2000, I can cut my clock hours significantly. Oh, by the way, I use a Bush Hog brand finishing mower that is six feet wide.
