Willing to bet that if there is fluid inside the axle housing, enough to cause leaks, then that rear end is well overfilled with fluid. I'll bet that either the rear end has a lot of water in it, or there is a fluid leak from somewhere else. I'm not sure as to whether the rear end on a Farmall. and it's transmission share fluid or not, I'm used to JD.
