We bought used a 2000 dodge one ton dually with a flatbed and 5 sp overdrive and 160000 miles on the clock. We drove it 600 miles to get it home and the mileage was in the 16-17 range at 60-70 MPH. We were running along side a 2001 chevy heavy 3/4 with the Duramax with an automatic and 100000 miles on the clock. It did about 18 MPG. Both pickups were empty and the Dodge rode rough because of it. The two seem to be geared about the same in high gear. I know this is probably not a fair comparison because of the different chassis, so take it like it is. Later on we took the Dodge on a long trip pulling a heavy load and the driver did not know that overdrive should not be used when pulling hard. Six hundred miles down the road the tranny locked up in gear. I guess the overdrive gear is undersized and can't take it. Just a word of caution. Top speed in fourth rear is about sixty with the engine whining so that is kind of a detriment on long trips. I have heard the Duramax with the automatic tranny has problems but ours has 130000 miles of moderately hard driving on it now and the only problem has been a water pump that just went out now.

He owned a small sawmill for sawing "baccer" sticks. The Super A was the powerplant. When I was old enough (7 or 8), I would get up early and be dressed to
