I just got home from tracking down the F20 with the starter that I used to drive long ago and the starter is tucked tight under the left frame rail in front of the bell housing. It goes into the bell housing from the front but there was so much junk packed around it that I could only see it from the top. There is a starter relay bolted to the left side of the tractor in a kind of ramshack fashion leading me to think this was not a dealer installed setup. The bellhousing looked factory and the bellhousing casting number was in the proper place though it was not legible. No one was home at the residence at the time I was there so I did not feel like spending too much time looking. Is this the way the dealer installed starter is set up? I remember the former owner, who has since passed away, told me he bought it new in '39. It does have 36 inch rear wheels with 'split rims'.
