The 4430 would be the handier of the two on a planter . I have been pulling a 12-30 Kinze Econofold with mine since 1987 . My 4430 is a 1976 powershift , plant in 6th gear 15-1600rpm , shift back to 4th , idle down on turns never stop , raises and lowers perfect . On a plow or other heavy work the 1086 would probably out work the 4430 . I would prefer the '76 or '77 4430's , they have a heavier powertrain , final drives etc and some trans improovments , somewhere around serial### 47-48000 and up .
