While building my shop had some friends come over to assist with roofing. Had been working all night before to have materials staged and ready. We all got down to shop with fresh coffee and grabbed our screw guns to begin. I went to start the power generator and pulled and pulled on the start rope. Checked fuel, oil everything or so I thought. I got mad and yanked so hard I broke pull rope - it was still long enough to pull just shorter. Everybody was about to leave and my son says, "Hey Dad, what is this switch for?" DUH!! My son found the off/on switch. It was in the "off" position. I then had to jury rig the shortened rope to get it started. All them fellas still give me a ribbing about this from time to time.
