Last year we borrowed a neighbor's 3pt backhoe mounted on his 4020 to fix some tile lines and while it was better than a shovel it was certainly a long ways from being a real backhoe. That one had a pto pump but the ground was really dry at the time and it really struggled to do much more than shave a couple of inches of dirt off at a time. The thing I really didn't like about it was that you could tell it was putting alot of stress on the tractor when you were using it and sooner or later something is going to break. In my opinion a person would be better off spending $6,000-8,000 for a used backhoe and forget the 3pt versions if you are going to use it more than a couple of times a year.
