I think MarkB has hit the nail on the head with the shipping cost and quarantine rules. While I know people that have imported animals from over seas (Africa) it is a long draw out process. Now if this were a triple crown horse I might under stand but just think about what you said. This man is buying a horse for a 7 year old. Time is of importance but he wants to have one shipped from over seas and wait weeks for it to go through quarantine. Wouldn't just any old nag do for a 7 year old? Why on earth would you go through this much trouble to get a horse for a 7 year old? But on the other hand if your stock blood line is this good to warrant this kind of hassles I may need to look at it.
