i use white shellac and keep mine dry. three things my dad taught me to never get wet; a wooden ladder, any sisel or hemp rope, and the thresher belt. Add the paper pulley to make it four. If you can't keep the tractor inside, at least take the pulley off and bring it in when it is not being used.
