I am just curious... Do you have to carry liability insurance on that tender? I was the secretary for 8 years, and the president for 1 year on our local fire dept board of trustees {smalltown}. We opted to purchase our equipment from companies that specialized in building fire department trucks. The company had to carry a liability insurance against defects and major breakdowns {limited warranties} for a certain amount of time. If a truck "breaks down" on a run to a fire, and the department did not follow the State guidelines and rules for building, maintaining, and operating the vehicle... the department can be sued by the parties that loose their house or property... because the department did not respond to the fire. If that tender breaks down while the foresty department is using it... could you be held liable??? That is why we never built our own tankers and brush trucks. Too much liabilities!
