If you are just buffing them out start with 1000 grit wet paper use some dish soap in the water and use plenty of it scuff with 1000 and switch to 1200 or 1500 plenty of water and when buffing let the buffer run OFF the edges not into them (itll burn the edges quick )if you are concerned about burning the edges use masking tape on them and buff by hand a good soft block also helps get it at the autobody supply go easy and itll work out fine.
