He was the best. I was in the dumps during election year 1980: Iranian hostage mess, super high inflation, super high interest rates. I just got married and wanted to buy a starter house; could see no way to get it done. Heck, we even created a number to tell us all how bad it was--the MISERY INDEX. Ronald Reagan came along at just the right time. Peace through strength; trust but verify, and Mr. Gorbachev DID tear down that wall.
