three reasons to close a small refinery. 1. the lack of feed stock. the wells in the US are going dry and no one can afford to drill. 2. the high cost of goverment regulations, clean air, clean water, high cost of insurance... 3. refinerys are a low margin business nobody yelled when oil was 10.00 a barrel, gas was .75 gal and 500,000 working folks in the oil field lost their jobs. (from 1986-1996)
