Used to work in fathers JD dealership shop in the 50's and 60's and all we ever repaired were pressed on. Be very careful when handling and installing the ceramic/carbon faced seal. Try to handle it as little as necessary. and when you install it put a very light film of vaseline or some small amount of lubricant on the seal faces so they do not rub together dry, as this will damage the seal faces and make them to seal.
